Babylon Schools Closed on Friday Due to Blizzard

After-school and evening activities also cancelled district-wide on Thursday.

Babylon School District students are heading back on vacation, sort of – the district announced classes would be cancelled on Friday as a blizzard approaches the area.

The district officially announced their Friday closing on the district's website, noting the forecasted blizzard conditions that are expected impact the area beginning Thursday afternoon.

The district has also cancelled after-school activities and evening events at the three area schools, citing the worsening conditions.

Section XI, in charge of high school sporting events across Long Island, also cancelled all games in the county due to the impending snowstorm, according to Newsday.

School resumed today, January 2, for the Babylon School District after a nearly week-and-a-half break for Christmas and New Year's.

West Babylon Schools were officially still on vacation through the end of this week and had no scheduled activities.
