BACCA Honors BHS Performing Arts Students

Two seniors have been recognized for efforts on a BACCA production.

Babylon High School seniors Matt McLean and Judy Weis received 2011 Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) awards for the BHS 2011 production of The Laramie Project. Matt was awarded Best Supporting Actor for his work in this play. Judy, the production’s stage crew manager, received her award for Best Play Production. Samantha Martino, Class of 2011, received Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Aunt Eller in Rogers and Hammerstein’s classic musical, Oklahoma! Lisa Drance, the Director of English and Theater at BHS, received an award from the New York State Theatre Education Association (NYSTEA) for her contribution to theater education on Long Island and in New York State.
