Booster Club Nets New Gear for Babylon Lacrosse

Both the boys and girls lacrosse programs received new goals and nets.

Members of The Babylon Booster Club recently presented brand new goals and nets to the boys and girls high school lacrosse programs. This follows the gift of newfield hockey goals and nets which the Boosters presented thefield hockey program last fall. The Babylon Booster Club is made up of parents, teachers, coaches and alumni that share the common goal of supporting the young athletes at Babylon Junior Senior High School. One of the ways the Boosters lend their support is by replacing old, broken sports equipment.

"The young kids deserve better in order to stay competitive," says Tim McCaffrey, Babylon Boosters President.

The Boosters work closely with the Babylon Athletic Director and coaches to help determine the greatest need. Fundraisers are held to help in the effort.

"Some of the wrestling matts the kids are using are 40 years old. We'd like to see if we can get new matts for the athletes," says McCaffrey.

Adding baseball and soccer scoreboards are also being considered by the Boosters. "We're grateful to all our members and supporters," added McCaffrey.
