Cops: Men Dealing Drugs Outside of W. Babylon Middle School

Two men arrested for completing a drug deal within 1,000 feet of West Babylon school.

Suffolk County Police arrested two men for allegedly completing a drug deal outside of West Babylon Junior High School on Wednesday.

Police said a Suffolk County COPE officer was on patrol near the junior high school on Wednesday morning when he witnessed a drug transaction at around 11:35 a.m. Patrols in the area were reportedly increased by COPE following reports of drug deals by concerned residents.

The seller and buyer were immediately placed under arrest by Suffolk County Police shortly after the deal was completed.

The dealer – Ramel McClinton, 19, of West Babylon – was placed under arrest and charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance within 1,000 Feet of School Grounds, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

The buyer – Frederick Johnston, 46, of Babylon Village – was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
