HS Students Celebrate the Earth

Nearly two dozen local high school students participated in the recent "Earth Day Comes Naturally," program

Babylon Junior-Senior High School students recently celebrated the rarth and the importance of taking care of the planet during an evening program called “Earth Day Comes Naturally.”

During the event, which was coordinated by English teacher Sarah Schreiber, students showcased original artwork, poetry, and other forms of expression, which centered on the environment. Projects focused on: artwork created with recycled materials, the history of Earth Day, the toll that pollution is taking on the planet, and depictions of the Earth.

Event attendees had a chance to sign a pledge to help clean up and protect the earth.

School librarian Jane Herbst read “10 Things I Can Do To Help My World” by Melanie Walsh during the event, and tenth grader James Navarra who served as the night’s host, and the following students who lent their creativity to the cause:
