Santapogue Elementary Students Celebrating Spring with Papier-Mâché Eggs

Spring was in the air as kindergarten students in Yvonne Spilka’s class recently teamed up with their third-grade buddies from Nancy Turano’s class at Santapogue Elementary School in West Babylon to create papier-mâché eggs.

This popular craft consists of wrapping a form, in this case an oval egg, with paper pieces bound with starch and glue. The students utilized their cutting, measuring and creative skills to create colorful eggs that were displayed for all of their peers.

Creating papier-mâché eggs was a culminating activity for lessons learned about animals that lay eggs naturally.
