Saturday Guide: Free Rabies Clinic and High School Fundraiser at Babylon Bean

Two events not to miss today include a musical fundraiser for a new marquee for Babylon High School.

Vaccines and Microchips

This morning Last Hope Animal Rescue, in conjuction with Pet Peeves, will be hosting a free rabies vaccine clinic for dogs and cats at the Town of Babylon animal shelter, 51 Lamar St. in West Babylon.

All Long Island pet owners are eligible. No appointment is necessary, but all pets must be at least four months old. Dogs must be leashed, and cats need to be in carriers. For more information about the free rabies vaccine clinic, contact feralpats@yahoo.com or call 516-223-6673.

In addition, the shelter is offering discounted HomeAgain microchips for dogs and cats at the event. A $25 fee includes chip implantation and registration. Call 631-643-9270 for more information about the microchip offer. 

Music for a Marquee

Joan Navarra, co-chair of the Babylon High School PTSA, will be holding a fundraiser at tonight at 8:00 p.m. Navarra and Tyler Gumpel, a freshmen at Babylon High School, will be hosting a "Night of Music at The Bean." Several BHS students will be performing. The event will raise funds to purchase a new electronic marquee to replace the existing marquee on the high school fields.

There is no charge at the door, but donations will be accepted. There will also be a raffle to win a new iPad. All proceeds from the raffle will go towards the purchase of the marquee.
