Sports Teams Cited for Achievement Outside the Playing Arena
All of Babylon Junior Senior High School fall sports teams qualified for the New York State Scholar-Athlete Team Award.
All of Babylon High School's varsity fall sports teams have qualified for the New York State Scholar-Athlete Team Award presented by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.
The award is presented to a team who cumulatively achieves a 90 percent grade point average or better during the competing season. The varsity field hockey team carried the highest cumulative average out of all New York State field hockey teams.
"I am proud of the fact that each of our fall sports teams qualified for the NYS Scholar-Athlete Award," said Director of Physical Education and Health Michael DeJoseph.

"While success on the field is our student-athletes main goal while competing, this award demonstrates that the importance of education is not overshadowed by their athletic accomplishment," DeJoseph said in a press statement. "Our administration, teachers, coaches, parents and student-athletes all share a great victory in receiving this award."
