Students Attain Series Scholarships for Academics

Four Babylon High School seniors are top ranked in the state.

Babylon High School seniors Sarah Grosser, Pamela Dupre, Matthew McLean
and Matthew Harberg have been  awarded 2012 Series Scholarships for Academic Excellence awards from the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (NYSHESC).

These scholarships are awarded to a select number of top-ranking students in the state each year, with the goal of providing financial aid for full-time study in approved programs at schools located in New York State.

Grosser, an AP Scholar with Distinction, is Babylon High School's Class of 2012 valedictorian, while Dupre, an award-winning varsity swimmer and president of the National Art Honor Society, is its salutatorian.

Harberg is a multi-sport varsity athlete who is also an active member of several honor societies, including the National Science Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, and the New York State Business Honor Society. As for McLean, he's earned All-County honors for his work in Babylon High School's Vocal Jazz Ensemble, while also racking up dozens of other musical and theatrical achievements during his four years at the school.
