Students Inducted into Music Honor Society

The Babylon School District Music Department recently hosted its annual Tri-M Honor Society Induction Ceremony.

The Babylon School District Music Department recently hosted its annual Tri-M Honor Society Induction Ceremony to recognize the district’s most outstanding student-musicians.

In her welcoming remarks, the director of the Department of Fine Arts, Angela Turk, stated, “Here at Babylon Junior/Senior High School, we know that small schools can achieve great things. Tri-M is one of the great things we have achieved.”

Music teacher Brian Knoll inducted and congratulated the society’s new executive board: President Sarah Everitt, Vice President Juliette Incandella, Secretary Matthew McLean, Treasurer Lacey Carlock, Historian Matthew Finelli, and Librarian Judith Weis.

Each member of the executive board explained what Tri-M stands for: modern, music and masters. In total, 36 new members recited the Tri-M pledge and were inducted.

The Tri-M Music Honor Society is the international music honor society for middle/junior high and high school students that acknowledges outstanding student-musicians for their talents and service while inspiring them to excel in music and leadership.
