Three W. Babylon Seniors Selected for State Competition

Students will represent the school district in state-wide media competition.

The Suffolk Region Parent-Teachers Assocation named three West Babylon Senior High School students as recipients of the Suffolk County Award of Excellence for the Reflections program.

Ariana Ramos (Visual Arts), Esmerlin Serrata (Photography) and Amber R. Voltz (Literature) will now go on to represent the West Babylon School District at the state level of competition.

Reflections is a National PTA program that gives K-12 students the opportunity to express themselves creatively through a variety of media, creating original works to reflect a designated annual theme. The theme this year was “The Magic of a Moment…”

Student submissions were judged at the school level; approximately 500 winning school projects throughout Suffolk County then advanced to the regional level for judging. From that pool of talented students, 129 projects were selected to advance to the state competition. All three of the high school-level entries chosen for the county competition were also chosen to advance to the next level.
