Village Awards Babylon Senior $2,500 Scholarship

Holy Trinity Diocesan High School senior Julia Florio was awarded a $2,500 scholarship for college.

The Village of Babylon and Mayor Ralph Scordino awarded Holy Trinity Diocesan High School senior Julia Florio a $2,500 scholarship by the Village of Babylon and Mayor Ralph Scordino on April 30th.

The scholarship was given by the Mayor E. Donald Conroy Scholarship committee as a discretionary award due to the generosity of the community of Babylon.
Florio, a Babylon resident, said she was nervous after she was called down to the school's library, but she recognized Mayor Scordino and was pleasantly surprised to receive the news about the scholarship.

“Julia is a terrific student," said Jeanne Carbone, her guidance counselor. "She has an unwavering positive attitude and an infectious smile. Julia has worked really hard for her academic success, and certainly deserves the recognition she has gotten!"
