Volunteers Needed for Babylon Schools' Facilities Review Committee

Committee will assist the board in preparing a bond issue that will be proposed to voters later this year.

The Babylon School District is looking for community volunteers to serve on the Facilities Review Committee, which will assist the Board of Education in preparing a bond issue that will be proposed to voters later this year.

The group, led by Roger Smith of BBS Architects of Patchogue, will work with district representatives and Board members who are familar with the current facility challenges throughout the district.

According to a release, the committee will review the district's state-mandated facilities report and provide recommendations regarding the scale of work that the Board will consider. Members should expect to attend several meetings over a period of three months including tours of the district's facilities, review and discussion and assisting in establishing actions moving forward.
