W. Babylon HS Advances to Second Round of "The Challenge"

W. Babylon will take on East Hampton on April 15 in MSG Varsity's "The Challenge" quiz show.

West Babylon High School is moving on – the school's student team advanced to the second round of MSG Varsity's "The Challenge" and will take on East Hampton High School in April.

The West Babylon High School team is represented by Wasiq Ahmed, Brian Xing (Captain), Brian Phillips and Joseph Ryder as well as alternates Joseph Louis-Jean and Anthony Morante. The academic advisors for the high school's team are Kelly Connolly Hickey and Kevin Malone.

The teams will square off on April 15 at 6:30 p.m. on Cablevision's Optimum channel 14.

The West Babylon High School is joined by 31 other schools from Suffolk County on Long Island as they progress through the Regional Rounds in trying to qualify for the Tri-State Championship Playoffs. In total, 192 high schools participate from the tri-state area in the quiz game.

Regional champion schools are awarded $2,500 and Tri-State Champion schools can earn a $10,000 prize for the school.
