West Babylon Art Students Honored

Students placed in the annual Michael J. Grant Campus of Suffolk County Community College Arts & Humanities High School Art Competition.

The West Babylon School District announced two talented senior high school art students have placed in the annual Michael J. Grant Campus of Suffolk County Community College Arts & Humanities High School Art Competition.

Recognized for their abilities were 10th-grader Carly Donohue, who received a third-place award for her ceramics piece "Arcadia," and 11th-grader Ryan Flanagan, for his photograph "Moments Before the Storm.”

Every year select student artists submit pieces of artwork in a wide variety of media, including drawing, photography, ceramics, sculpture, painting and mixed media. This year there were a total of 53 entries. Student work is displayed in the college’s Gallery West art gallery and the competition is judged by the Suffolk County Community College art faculty.
