West Babylon Class of 2013 Salutatorian: Brian Phillips

The multi-talented student was ranked number two among his graduating class.

The West Babylon School District has announced senior student Brian Phillips as the West Babylon High School Class of 2013 salutatorian. 

The high-ranking senior has demonstrated an impressive ability to balance his academics with a variety of school and community activities. A National AP Scholar and member of both the National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society, Brian is no stranger to hard work and determination. 

A passionate musician, he has performed with the SCMEA choir and Sing Out Loud select choir, as well as in the school musicals every year.

He also manages to find the time to participate in school activities, serving as a member of the Mock Trial and Quiz Bowl teams, Math Club, Science Olympiads and golf team.  

A man of many interests, Brian will be studying chemical engineering at the University of Delaware in the fall.

“As a child, my grandfather instilled a great sense of academic spirit in me,” he said. “I try to honor that spirit daily. Chemistry is a field that I believe is going to be pivotal in the future of the country, and I would like to contribute in a way that is higher than myself.”
