West Babylon Student-Poets Speak Out

Students took part in high school's annual Poetry Out Loud program.

West Babylon Senior High School students took part in the school’s annual Poetry Out Loud program, taking to the stage and sharing original works with their peers.

The selections were judged by a panel and student-poets Wasiq Ahmad, Ariana Ramos and Jason Meurlin won first, second and third place in the competition, respectively.

“This is a wonderful event,” said Carol Varsoalona, the director of language arts and testing. “Our senior high school students shine and showcase the old tradition of oral recitation.”
