Whiz Kids: Musicians Get All County Honors

Four talented Babylon High School student-musicians were selected to participate in highly selective All-County music ensembles.

For the first time in more than a decade, two Babylon students, junior Chris Finelli and senior Matthew McLean, were selected to participate in the All-County Jazz Ensembles held in February at Sayville High School. Finelli was a select member of the All-County Instrumental Jazz Ensemble while McLean was a member of the All-County Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

Sarah Everitt, a Babylon High School senior, was selected as a member of the All-County All-Star Horn Ensemble and senior Peter Taggart was selected as a member of the All-County Percussion Ensemble. Hundreds of students from schools across Suffolk County auditioned for these ensembles, but only a few of the most talented students were selected to perform.
