Another Perfect Game for W. Babylon's Olivia Galati

Softball pitcher hurled her fifth career perfect game for Hofstra University on Thursday.

West Babylon native and St. John the Baptist HS alum Olivia Galati tied an NCAA record on Thursday afternoon, hurling her fifth career perfect game against James Madison on Thursday for her Hofstra University Pride.

The right-hander struck out 10 betters over six innings, allowing not a single batter to reach via hit, walk, hit by pitch or fielding error. She left the James Madison bats silent on Thursday afternoon at Hofstra Softball Stadium, putting up zero's across the board for six innings.

Galati, a senior, has already tossed four previous perfectos and 12 no-hitters in her career. Her 20 shutouts and 370 strikeouts this season lead all of the NCCA's Division I softball and her 36 wins lead the nation.

The game was ended after six innings due to the run rule, which ends a game if one team is up by eight or more runs after six innings of play. Hofstra was up 8-0 at the end of six.

The perfect game was the first in CAA Softball Championship history.

The win advanced the Pride to the Colonial Athletic Association softball finals on Friday at 12 p.m.
