Babylon Panthers Headed to State Semis After OT Win

The Panthers won a nail-biter against Marlboro, taking the win in overtime.

The Babylon Panthers boys varsity basketball team just keeps finding ways to win, taking a thrilling game over Section 9 champion Marlboro High School, 56-49, to advance to the state semi-finals.

After tying the game in the final minute of regulation, the two teams tangled up in overttime. According to MSG Varsity, Babylon stars Fernando Vazquez, Brendan Laing and Alec Zamet were forced out of the game by fouling out, leaving it up to Ray Wardell Jake Carlock to lead the game.

Wardell and Carlock combined to score 11 of Babylon's 13 points in overttime, giving the Panthers the victory.
