The Babylon Panthers will have to wait an extra day to take on the Mount Sinai Mustangs for the Suffolk County Championship after Stony Brook University made the Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs.
The No. 1 Panthers (10-0) were scheduled to play the No. 2 Mustangs on Sunday at 4 p.m. after Babylon won their game Saturday over . However, the Stony Brook University Seawolves were selected to host an opening round game of the FCS Playoffs, pitting their team against Villanova University on Saturday evening.
Babylon and Mt. Sinai will now face off on Monday evening at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium for the Suffolk County Division IV Championship at 6 p.m. The game will cost $6 for entry.
The winner of the game will face Nassau County's Division IV champion for the Long Island Championship the next week.
The college game, which was in question due to a Stony Brook loss earlier this season, was announced on Sunday afternoon in a country-wide selection ceremony. The Seawolves are 9-2 this season, including 5-1 in the Big South Division.
