Babylon Remains Undefeated With 4-0 Win
Panthers shut out Copiague in field hockey competition, upping their league record to 2-0.
Babylon's varsity field hockey team defeated Copiague 4-0 Monday in league play. With the win, the Panthers (2-0, 2-1 overall) remain unbeaten.
Maggie Griffo opened the scoring early in the first half. Midway through the half, goals by Bridget McCarthy and Katie Lydakis gave the Panthers a commanding 3-0 lead. McCarthy added a second goal in the second half to complete the scoring. Babylon goalie Dotty Barker picked up her first shutout of the season.
After opening their season with a non-league 2-1 loss at Port Jefferson, Babylon defeated West Babylon 7-4 last Thursday. Babylon's next game is today at North Babylon.
