Babylon Resident Inducted into Youth Soccer Hall of Fame

Peter Masotto will be inducted into the Region 1 Hall of Fame on Oct. 19.

Babylon Village resident Peter Masotto will be inducted into the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Associated Region 1 Hall of Fame on Oct. 19 in Portland, Maine.

This will be the fourth Hall of Fame Masotto has been entered into as he previously entered the Hall of Fame of Eastern New York in 1998, the Long Island Junior Soccer League in 1999 and the East Hudson Youth Soccer League in 2004.

The former president of the ENYYSA was also  selected a life member of both Eastern New York and US Soccer in 2006.

“I started coaching because of my two girls, Annmarie and Patricia,” Masotto said. “I did it for the love of the game and not for any recognition. I cannot believe all the ceremonies and honors I have received for my volunteering as a coach and administrator.”

Masotto began participating in youth soccer in 1975 and has continued to help young boys and girls learn the game for the next 40 years.
