Panthers Make It Seven Straight, Win 55-0

The Babylon Panthers dominated again in their seventh straight victory this Saturday.

The rain might have held the game back for a day, but nothing the Shoreham-Wading River Wildcats could do held the Babylon Panthers' offense back.

The Panthers rolled yet again to a 55-0 dominating victory over the Wildcats, keeping their perfect record in tact during the 2012 season.

Quarterback Nick Santorelli helped lead the Panthers down the field not with his arm, where was only 2-of-8 for 23 yards and two touchdowns, but with his legs, taking 14 carries down the field for 110 yards and one touchdown. Runningback Eric Schweitzer continued his dominant season on the field, receiving two touchdowns.

Runningback Joey Mankiewicz added to the offensive output, taking the ball on four carries for 61 yards, including two touchdowns.

The Panthers, as they have done a few times this season, took a huge lead before the opponents had time to even gain their first-down – Babylon was 28-0 before a single first-down was had by the Wildcats.

The Panthers defense, which showed a powerful outing at Homecoming in a 37-8 victory then, proved impenetrable. The shutout is Babylon's second on the season and first since their September 21st game against Greenport.

Babylon is now averaging 36.9 points per game while the defense has allowed only 8.9 points per game.

The Panthers are now 7-0 and alone atop Division IV for the first time all season. The Wildcats fell to 5-2.

Babylon will play their final game this Friday at Center Moriches (1-6).
