Weekend Planner: Concerts, Pow Wow

A rainy start to the weekend won't wash away these great things going on.

Patch Forecast – The weekend is going to start soggy, alright. Friday might just be a wash-out with heavy thunderstorms expected all day and lasting through the evening and into Saturday morning. Clearing up throughout Saturday afternoon and a great day ahead for Sunday. Highs expected to be around 82-85° throughout the weekend.

Friday

The Town of Babylon will host its final at Tanner Park at 7:00 p.m. Long Island's own Vanilla Fudge will take to the bandstand and give the crowd a great, hard rock show. Brings blankets or lawn chairs (and maybe more) to sit on since the ground will be wet.

The Village of Babylon will continue its own summer music series at the Gazebo on Main Street across from Argyle Lake Park. Tricia Raymond and the Long Island Banjo Society will take to the stage and play some great music starting at 8:00 p.m. sharp.

Saturday

 will take place at the same place, same time as usual – Copiague's Oak Street and Great Neck Road at 8:00 a.m. Sellers from all over the area will bring fresh produce, meats, beers and more. Free raffles are also held to take home a free bag of goodies!

The two-day  will get underway at the Babylon Town Hall on Sunrise Highway at 10:00 a.m. $10.00 admission gets you a pow wow show and access to numerous food carts and Native American vendors. Come check out the 32nd annual show!

Famed pop-punk band Boys Like Girls will be performing for free at the Tanger Outlets at The Arches in Deer Park at 6:00 p.m. Get there early for some good viewing angles and, of course, shopping!

Sunday

The Village of Babylon will host its weekly Farmer's Market at the North LIRR Parking Lot starting at 8:00 a.m. Local vendors will be selling everything from veggies to beers. Special to this week is local musician Kate will be performing starting at 11:00 a.m.!

Support your local Cub Scouts! They will be hosting a Car Wash at Babylon Grade School from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to help raise funds for the upcoming year!

Day two of the Paumanuake Pow Wow will start sharp at 10:00 a.m. at Babylon Town Hall.
