Babylon Youth Project Honors Pillars of the Community

A village trustee and a longtime community volunteer were feted at the group's annual fundraising dinner.

The Babylon Village Youth Project, a village mainstay that's provided outings and youth programming, honored Babylon Village Trustee Anthony Davida and local dentist Christopher Proto at its recent annual fundraiser dinner held at the Hibernian Hall.

Youth Project Director Eric Price and a crew of volunteers organized the cocktail party and dinner buffet, featuring a Chinese auction of goods donated by Babylon businesses.

Volunteer and board member James Tasciotti praised the efforts of both Davida and Proto, calling them "pillars of the community."

Price explained the importance of the event's fundraising in a letter to invitees: "Your donations make possible a wide range of activities including a tutoring program for our grade/high school students, travel to historic sites, visits to museums, computer classes, art classes, movie nights, boat safety courses, and much more."
