Got an Extra Coat? Donate and Help Keep Someone Warm

County Legislator kicks off his annual coat and warm clothing donation project.

Suffolk County Legislator Wayne Horsley is sponsoring the sixth annual coat drive in conjunction with “Every Child’s Dream," a not for profit organization in Suffolk County.

Over the last five years residents have donated over 2,500 coats, sweaters, jackets and blankets, according to the legislator.

The goal is to provide 500 needy families with warm clothing this holiday season.

Donations can include new or gently used coats, sweaters, sweatshirts and blankets. All sizes are needed.

Items can be brought to Horsley's office at 123 North Wellwood Avenue, in Lindenhurst between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. For additional information call 854-1100. The deadline to donate is Wednesday, December 7.
