The Weekend Guide: Pancake Breakfast, Night at the Races, Pizza Fly-In

There are great fun fundraisers this weekend.

There is no excuse not to have fun this weekend and also get the chance to support a great local cause.

Saturday, March 24

Rotary Night at the Races

The Babylon Rotary will host its second annual Night at the Races at the Masonic Temple, across from Argyle Park, featuring real video horse racing, great food and drink, and lots of fun on Saturday, March 24. Tickets are $50 from any member of the Rotary club or at Norton and Siegel, Rollins Printing, and Glen's Dinette. Another great reason to go is that the food is from Gemelli Ristorante.

Babylon Lions Annual Pancake Breakfast

The club will hold its 43rd pancake event from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Babylon Memorial Grade School on Park Avenue. The $6 ticket donation gets supporters unlimited pancakes, scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, juice/milk/coffee/tea. There will be door prizes and plenty of raffles.

Babylon Flyers Pizza Fly-In Event

The Babylon Flyers club is having a Pizza Fly-In event at the WBCYC at 75 Sawyer Avenue, West Babylon from 12 noon to 4 p.m. There will be spot landing, pylon racing, an obstacle course, a limbo contest as well as prizes and a 50-50 raffle. It’s the annual end of the indoor flying season party.

Long Island Abate Annual Chilly Chili Run

The event will take place at 10 a.m. from the Riverhead Elks Lodge to Finnigans's Wake located at 313-3rd St, S. Jamesport. Sign-up is from 10-11:30am and the party starts at 12 noon. Bring your best chili. There will be a cash bar, food and music. Cost is $10 for members, $15 for non-members.
