Summer-Like Temperatures Headed to Babylon Village

A burst of summer time heat will linger over Long Island for the rest of the week.

April showers brought May flowers, but a late-May temperature bump is going to bring air conditioners back to life.

A slow-moving warm front will linger over the area throughout the end of the week, bring above-average temperatures and humid air from Wednesday to Saturday, with high temperatures in the lower-80's.

The warm front will push the cool air our area has seen the last few days out by mid-Wednesday, bringing thunderstorms throughout the day and a high of 80 degrees in Babylon Village.

Thursday and Friday will lose most of the threat of thunderstorms, but high temperatures will remain around 82 degrees on both days with mostly sunny skies. Some more clouds will move across Long Island by the weekend, bringing temperatures a bit lower in the mid-70's.

The record high for Islip, New York during the month of May was set in 1987 when our area hit a blistering 95 degrees.
