Babylon Village Weekend Planner: May 31

See what's going on around the area this weekend.

All community members are invited to the Kids Walk for Juvenile Diabetes to help raise money and awareness for this worthy cause. The events begins Friday at 3 p.m. at Lindenhurst Middle School. 

Boy Scout Troop 1421 is holding a car wash at Lindenhurst Middle School on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. to help fund the West Gates Elementary School Reading Garden Eagle Project.

Catch Royal Family Productions' Romeo/Juliet this weekend at the BACCA Center. Performances are Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20. 

Last Hope Animal Rescue is holding a free rabies vaccine clinic for dogs and cats at Babylon Town Animal Shelter on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All Long Island pet owners are eligible; no appointment necessary, but all pets must be at least 4 months old. Dogs must be leashed, and cats need to be in carriers. Dogs must be dog & people-friendly. 

The Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce will be holding its annual Spring Fling Arts and Music Festival & Sidewalk sale this Saturday and Sunday. Head on down to Deer Park Avenue for all the fun and sales!

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in West Babylon is hosting its annual Greek Festival through Sunday, featuring live Greek music, traditional Greek folk dancing, authentic Greek food and pastries, and carnival rides and raffles. 

Pick up some fresh, local produce at the Babylon Village Farmer's Market, which is opening for the season on Sunday at 8 a.m. Enjoy live music from 10 a.m. to noon. 

A fundraiser to help and support Chris Huckstadt, a 15-year-old West Islip resident battling Hodgkins Lymphoma, will take place Sunday at the Babylon Masonic Lodge from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. For a $15 donation, you receive dinner as well as unlimited soda and juice. There will also be a cash bar.
