Town Hosts Fall Cleanup Day This Sat.

Annual event helps residents safely recycle old appliances and furniture for free.

Saturday will be a really good day if you have old appliances or broken furniture to get rid of.

The Town of Babylon will host its annual Fall Cleanup Day at the Residential Recycling Center in West Babylon starting at 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

The Cleanup Day allows residents to take unlimited trips using their vehicles to the recycling center to dispose of certain domestic items. The recycling center usually charges for a drop-off, but the annual cleanup event allows residents to recycle their space-takers and old items for free.

According to the town's website, items accepted include furniture, major appliances such as stoves, dishwashers and televisions, wood products, including fencing, paneling and brush, will be accepted.

The Recycling Center will not be accepting car and boat parts or any demolition debris. Commercial waste is also unacceptable.

The Residential Recycling Center is located at 57 Field Street in West Babylon.
