Weekend Agenda: Long Island Bluegrass Festival, Dirty Sock Run

A look at what's happening this weekend in the area.

The 11th annual Long Island Bluegrass Festival will be held Saturday at Tanner Park in Copiague. General admission is $15, $10 for Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts members an children ages 8-12 and the disabled; under age 7 free. First act takes the stage at noon. Long Island's own Buddy Merriam & Back Roads are the featured performers. Find more details and the full line-uphere.  

On Friday and Saturday leisurely walk the grounds of Sagtikos Manor in West Bay Shore and watch artists paint in the open air. The artists’ "wet" painted created works will be on display and sold during the Outdoor Art Showon the Great Lawn on Sunday. This is your chance to own an original piece of art of the Manor. Viewing is free and open to the public. The Manor will be open for tours both days. More info

The annual Babylon Village Classic 10k race, better known as theDirty Sock Run, is set to run through the village on Sunday morning. The annual run sponsored by the Babylon Rotary Club and a slew of Babylon Village businesses takes a winding path through the village's roadways and parks in a cross-country style event. The event will benefit The Clergy Cluster Food Pantries this year. Joining the run is easy – runners can sign up through Friday on Active.com for a $30 fee.
