TGIF -- the weekend is almost here. If you're looking for something to do locally, we've got a rundown of activities and events happening in the area.
Friday
West Islip Wines & Liquors is giving complimentary tastes of Fireball, Eagle Rare and White Dog whiskeys on Friday at 4 p.m.
Psychic Medium Jeffrey Wands will visit the Deer Park Community Center on Friday. Tickets are $35 and include snacks, coffee, tea and cake. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The Babylon Lions Club is holding an all new Summer BBQ and Pool Party fundraiser on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the newly renovated Babylon Village Pool. Proceeds from the event will benefit the local food pantries supported by the club.
Relive the music of Santana and Allman Bros. with tribute bands Milagro and Seven Turns, performing at Dix Hills Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $35.
The South Shore Theater Experience presents "It's All Relative," their Annual One Act Festival to benefit Strength for Life and The American Heart Association on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $15.
Saturday
William from Boy Scout Troop 95 is hosting a car wash and bake sale on Saturday to help him achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. The money raised will be used to build a memorial garden at Paul J Bellew School circle to honor the military. Stop by Church of Christ beginning at 8 a.m.
Applebee's will host an Eagle Project Car Wash at their location on N. Wellwood Avenue starting at 9 a.m. All donations will benefit the Ryhans Center of Hope Homeless Shelter Vegetable Garden Eagle Project.
Sunday
Shop local produce and other wares at the Babylon Village Farmer's Market beginning Sunday at 8 a.m. at the Babylon train station parking lot.
Enjoy a 90-minute narrated sightseeing cruise on the Great South Bay aboard the Delta Lady Paddlewheel boat on Sunday at 1 p.m. Register at captreelady.com.
