Long Island Historic Houses of the South Shore Multimedia Presentation at Long Island Yacht Club
Multi-Media Presentation and book signing event about the Babylon area Mansions and Historic Homes featured in the new book "Long Island Historic Houses of the South Shore".
Long Island Long Island Historic Houses of the South Shore is a first of its kind, largest printed collection of vintage photos of the South Shore Mansions and historic homes in 20 towns along the south shore from Massapequa through Mastic. It contains a lot of Long Island history including the origin of Jones Beach, several houses connected to the Revolutionary War including the Manor of St. George which had a battle fought on the front lawn, and homes of famous south shore residents including the Vanderbilt Mansion Idelhour and the Bourne Estate in Oakdale and much more!
The book is also very timely as the North Shore Gold Coast is soon to be in the news with the release of the new Great Gatsby film being released in May. I'm hoping to highlight the south shore hidden Gold Coast or "the other Gold Coast", which was just as extravagant, but never got the recognition it deserved until now!
