Officer Lopez's Last Words Heard at Accused Killer's Trail

Darrell Fuller, of Brooklyn, faces a life sentence with no parole for a double murder in October 2012.

The last words of Babylon Village resident and Nassau County Police Officer Arthur Lopez were heard during a hearing in the trail of his accused murderer.

Lopez's sister, Charo, reportedly weeped as an audio recording was played in the courtroom. She told Newsday she was both proud and sad to hear her brother's voice one more time.

She remained adament, however, about making sure his accused killer – Darrell Fuller, of Brooklyn – was put in jail.

"My new year's resolution is to put a killer behind bars with no parole," she told Newsday.

Lopez's voice was heard as he radioed in a fleeing suspect, the accused Fuller, shortly before being allegedly shot by the man on October 23, 2012.

Fuller is accused of shooting Lopez, another man and fleeing the scene setting off a huge manhunt throughout Queens. He was found that evening with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Fuller faces first-degree murder charges, which could land him a life sentence without parole if found guilty.
