Babylon Village Board Approves New Restaurant

One West Main will replace the recently closed Tidewaters Grill.

The Babylon Village Board of Trustees formally gave their approval to the new restaurant taking over the space at the northwest corner of Deer Park Avenue and West Main Street.

The board unanimously approved the application of Luciano DiRico to "own and operate a restaurant at 1 West Main Street" during their April 23 board meeting.
The new restaurant, to be named "One West Main Bar & Grille," will take over the corner location formerly occupied by Tidewaters Grill and the Armadillo Grille before it.

The village held a public hearing concerning the new restaurant on April 9, where the board heard the plans for the new restaurant from DiRico.

DiRico said at that meeting the new restaurant would keep a diverse menu and about 80 seats. The new menu would include entrees such as oven-roasted French chicken, country fried steak and pineapple ribs.

DiRico, who said at the April 9 meeting he has worked in the food service industry for over 20 years, said this would be the fifth restaurant he has opened. He has most recently operated 22 North Park in Rockville Centre and previously worked as a chef at Port Jefferson's Tequila Jack's.

The board had previously reserved decision during that meeting.
